4,501 Toddler Stunting In Batang Will Be Completed Until The End Of 2024

JAKARTA - The Batang Regency Government, Central Java expressed its readiness to complete 4,501 toddlers who were stunted and spread across a number of sub-districts in the area.

The number of toddlers in Batang Regency is 59,266 toddlers and 4,501 toddlers, including stunting.

Acting Regent of Batang Lani Dwi Rejeki in Batang, Thursday, said that based on data on electronic-based listing and reporting of nutrition, stunting cases from 2022 to 2023 continued to experience a significant decline.

"There are 4,501 toddlers who are stunting ready for us to finish in 2024," he said.

According to him, the stunting cases were spread across 25 villages in eight sub-districts, such as Warungasem, Banyuputih, Tulis, Gringsing, Reban, Blado, Bawang, and Kandeman.

"We are considering handling stunting cases in the eight sub-districts, because based on the analysis of the data situation from regional apparatus organizations and other indicators, such as the provision of clean water and latrines," he said.

He said the district government had prepared a number of activity programs, such as preparing a family companion team and providing family planning services as an effort to resolve stunting cases.

In completing the stunting case, he said, his party would involve a number of regional apparatus organizations, such as the Health Service, Social Service, and the Ministry of Religion to provide education to the public about the importance of preventing the case from occurring.

"We hope that the cooperation with a number of regional apparatus organizations can prevent and reduce stunting cases in this area," he said.
