Three Days Before Voting, ASN Prohibited From Going Out Of Town

JAKARTA - The Regent of Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province Hj Indah Dhamayanti Putri prohibits State Civil Apparatus (ASN) and officials from traveling outside the region ahead of the 2024 General Election.

"Starting from D-3 on voting day on February 14, 2024, we prohibit ASN from taking official trips," said Hj Indah Dhamayanti, quoting Antara, Thursday, February 8.

The Regent of Bima Regency issued circular letter (SE) number 821.29/005/03.7/2024 dated February 7, 2024 regarding the active participation and neutrality of the state civil apparatus (ASN) and non-ASN in the 2024 General Election within the Bima Regency Government.

"So that all ASN and Non ASN do not travel outside the region since D-3 the implementation of the 2024 General Election," he said.

The appeal is in line with the mandate of KPU Regulation Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Preparation of Voter Lists in the Implementation of Elections and Voter Data Information Systems. All ASN and Non-ASN are required to participate in voting rights in the general election on February 14, 2024.

"This is to encourage an increase in the active participation of state civil servants within the Bima Regency government in simultaneous General Elections in 2024," he said.

In particular, the Regent of Bima said, in accordance with the provisions of article 2 of Law Number 5 of 2014 concerning ASN, in connection with the implementation of the presidential and vice presidential elections, members of the DPR, DPD, as well as members of the Provincial/Regency/City DPRD, throughout Indonesia, the implementation of policies and management of ASN must be based on the principle of neutrality.

"So that every ASN employee does not take sides with any form of influence and does not side with anyone's interests," he said. The Indonesian KPU has also determined the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections (Pilpres), namely the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar pair number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. serial number 3.
