Mahfud Promises To Open Access To Disable In Every Village If He Wins The Presidential Election

Candidates for vice president number 3 Mahfud MD promised to pay more attention to the presence of people with disabilities by opening access in every village if the pair of candidates Ganjar-Mahfud is elected to win the 2024 Presidential Election.

In a campaign in Pakisaji, Malang Regency, East Java, Mahfud said that access for people with disabilities in each village also includes public services for people with special needs.

"Therefore, if we are elected later, we will open access in every village and there will be public services in every village for people with disabilities. I promise in Malang, on February 7, 2024," said Mahfud.

Mahfud explained that based on the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, Article 28H paragraph (2), it was stated that everyone has the right to receive special convenience and treatment to get equal opportunities and benefits in order to achieve equality and justice.

According to him, with the existence of this article, the state must provide special treatment, one of which is that people with disabilities can work in government offices, private offices, State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), and others.

"It must exist and must be implemented. So far, people with disabilities if they work are limited, such as in the field of information technology and administration," he continued.

Mahfud said that actually, people with disabilities need a number of other professions, such as being a researcher or research, which currently has not been realized much.

"However, what is more needed by disabilities is such as researchers, research, and so on. This has not been given. Please collect it later if I don't do it," he said.

In addition to paying more attention to people with disabilities, Mahfud also promised to pay attention to the presence of farmers and fishermen.

He said that currently, people who work as farmers and fishermen in Indonesia are recorded to have debts of approximately Rp. 680 billion.

Mahfud also promised that later he would be elected with Ganjar Pranowo to abolish the debts of the farmers and fishermen.

"If we are elected, for the welfare of the people, for the sake of our country, this debt will be released by the government. The money is there, so far our money has been lost because of corruption," he said.
