Medan Exemplary Stadium Renovation Begins

The Mayor of Medan, North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution stated that the physical work of facilities and infrastructure as well as the rehabilitation and renovation project of the Medan Exemplary Stadium began.

"Alhamdulillah, after going through a long process, we can finally get to this point. Where we can both do the groundbreaking (first stone planting)," Bobby said at the Medan Exemplary Stadium as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 6.

The laying of this first stone, he continued, was a form of collaboration between the Medan City Government and the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) using a total budget of more than IDR 545 billion.

Of the total budget used of more than Rp545 billion, of which Rp280 billion came from the state budget, covering the work of the main building of the Teladan Stadium.

Then Rp265 billion from the Medan City APBD consists of an allocation of funds at the Cipta Karya Housing and Spatial Planning Office of Medan City amounting to Rp235 billion which includes the construction of physical facilities and infrastructure in the stadium area.

Then the Medan City Water Resources, Highways and Construction Development Office (SDABMBK) amounted to IDR 30 billion for the work of the outer drainage of approximately 5,000 meters.

"Because the budget we use does not only come from the state budget, but also from the Medan City Budget," said Bobby.

For the physical construction of the Medan Exemplary Stadium, his party thanked President Jokowi, and the Ministry of PUPR for listening to the screams of all residents of Medan City, both football lovers and sports athletes.

It is known that the Teladan Stadium is a matter of pride for the residents of Medan City, because this stadium has given birth to national team players from the PSMS Medan club, one of which is the best goalkeeper for the national team.

"After being completed, this Exemplary Stadium will become FIFA's standard. Not only will world-class football players, but I want the Exemplary Stadium to have a role in realizing Indonesia Gold 2045," said Bobby.

Head of the Medan City Housing, Cipta Karya and Spatial Planning (Perkim Cikataru), Alexander Sinulingga, reported that the physical work of supporting facilities and infrastructure for the Teladan Stadium was carried out by the Ministry of PUPR.

"Meanwhile, the Exemplary Stadium rehabilitation and renovation project was carried out by the Medan City Government through the Cikataru Perkim Service including stadium facilities and infrastructure as well as the SDABMBK Service including drainage work," he said.
