Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School Jombang Express Support For Prabowo-Gibran

The Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, Jombang Regency, East Java, expressed its support for Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the 2024 presidential election.

The support from the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, Jombang, was conveyed directly by the dzurriyah or descendants of KH Hasyim Asy'ari, the founder of the pesantren, namely Gus Irfan Yusuf, Gus Billy Wahid, Gus Yusuf Adnan Kikin and Gus Ivan Fahmi at the Tebuireng Declaration event at the pesantren.

"To invite all parties to exercise their voting rights in the February 14, 2024 elections. By supporting the Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka pairs as President and Vice President of Indonesia 2024-2029," said a representative from the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, Jombang, Gus Ivan, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 6.

Gus Ivan said the support was an announcement. He hopes that the announcement of support for the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, Jombang to Prabowo-Gibran will be followed by students and alumni.

"Thus this announcement is conveyed in order to be a guide for students, alumni and the general public," he said.

Ponpes Tebuireng also hopes that the 2024 election contestation, which will take place on February 14, 2024, can run smoothly and peacefully. Tebuireng assessed the need for sustainable leadership in accordance with the spirit of protecting all parties.

"The need for the sustainability of national leadership that supports the vision of Indonesia Gold 2045. The need for national leadership in accordance with the teachings of Islamahlussunnah wal jamaah annahdhiyyah which is moderate and protects all national groups," he said.

According to him, as a pesantren that has a long history and has a big influence, Tebuireng's Declaration is considered to be very significant for its main Prabowo-Gibran voice in the santri base area.
