JAKARTA - Police in Jakarta deployed a number of forces, including equestrian police (Turangga), motorcycle patrols, and sniffer dogs to secure the final debate of the presidential candidate (candidate) for the 2024 General Election at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) Senayan, Central Jakarta.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Condro, revealed that four equestrian policemen were placed in ring two around the lobby and the entrance to the JCC to strengthen security during the debate.

"Yes, we put four police officers on a horse in ring two, namely around the lobby and the entrance to the JCC for security during the debate until it was finished," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Condro at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) Senayan, Central Jakarta, Sunday, February 4.

Susatyo said that the four horses ridden by the police would circle around the JCC area as an effort to strengthen security. In addition, the joint forces from the TNI, Polri, Internal Security (Pamdal) of the KPU and the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta are also on guard in ring one, namely the debate area. Then, dozens of motorcycle cycling personnel from the National Police also carry out patrols around the JCC area, namely ring three in the outermost sector of the entrance to the GBK area to the parking pockets.

"All troops began to ride, motorbike troops, and even some sniffer dogs were also deployed to strengthen security and comb luggage to prevent the presence of narcotics and explosives," said Susatyo.

Previously, the police divided the area of the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) Senayan, Central Jakarta into three rings in securing the last debate for the 2024 presidential candidate (candidate) which was scheduled to start at 19.00 WIB.

"We have prepared a security pattern for today long ago. We have divided it into three rings. We are also evaluating the security pattern from the previous debate, so that today's security is much better," said Susatyo.

Personnel involved in security will be placed in ring one, namely in the debate area, ring two around the lobby and the entrance to the JCC, then ring three in the outer sector of the entrances to the GBK area to the parking pockets.

In addition, sniffer dogs were also deployed to detect narcotics and explosives. Security involved around 2,992 joint personnel to ensure security during the fifth 2024 election presidential candidate debate organized by the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU).
