3 Months Escape, Fugitive Corruption Bridge Project In Indragiri Riau Arrested

The Riau High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has arrested a suspect in the alleged corruption in the Sungai Enok Bridge construction project in Enok District, Indragiri Hilir Regency, namely the Director of PT Bonai Riau Jaya (BRJ) HM Fadhillah Akbar (HMFA) after three months of running away.

Head of the Legal Information Section (Pentakum) and Public Relations of the Riau Prosecutor's Office, Bambang Heripurwanto, said the suspect was arrested by the Buron Capture Team (Tabur) of the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) together with the Riau Attorney General's Office on Jalan Qadr Raya, Cibodas, Tangerang City, last Tuesday.

"The Tabur team managed to secure the fugitive suspect who was included in the wanted list of people from the Riau High Prosecutor's Office with the initials HMFA, who was finally interrogated regarding his escape," he said.

HMFA, who is suspected of being involved in a corruption case for the 2012 Fiscal Year, was cooperative when it was secured, so that the security process went smoothly. The suspect was secured to the South Jakarta Kejari for coordination with the Riau Attorney General's Office Investigator for the next process.

According to Bambang, the Riau Attorney General's Special Team for Tabur and Crime then picked up the suspect to Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport in Pekanbaru. After the handover, Pidsus investigators carried out an intensive examination.

The 48-year-old man was then detained and placed in the Pekanbaru Class I State Detention Center (Rutan). "The suspect was detained," said Bambang Heripurwanto.

It is known that HMFA was named a suspect along with the former Director of PT Bonai Riau Jaya, namely Budhi Syahputra. He has been sent to the Pekanbaru Class I State Detention Center (Rutan), Thursday, September 7, 2023.

Meanwhile, HMFA, who was also summoned for questioning, was absent from the prosecutor's summons. He was absent several times, and chose to run away until he was declared a DPO.

Corruption acts were carried out by the two suspects with the mode of announcing the auction of the Indragiri Hilir Regency Pokja II auction on May 17, 2012. The suspect HMFA and the suspect Budhi completed the terms of the auction or tender and looked for fictitious personnel.
