Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez Reunite in Animated Film "Not Alone"

JAKARTA - Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez are cast as the main characters in Universal Pictures' latest animated film, Not Alone. A day earlier, Chalamet posted an Instagram Story with plans to announce a new film.

The production house also announced that the film Not Alone will be shown in cinemas on April 16, 2027 as part of Illumination's latest film list, which was first announced at the Annecy Film Festival in France.

For the first time, Chalamet will voice an animated film. He will play Joe, a mechanic who lives alone. Selena Gomez will play Fran, an astro-botanist who works on the first rocket with energy from plants.

The film "Not Alone" tells the story of Joe and Fran who are brought together to prepare for a rocket launch. The two have feelings for each other, but they are hesitant about the romance between them.

Their lives begin to get complicated after three aliens take refuge in Joe's house, namely Dunk, Welly, and Shirm. The aliens think Fran's homemade rocket can make them go home and avoid Zandro, the officer who is looking for their trail.

In addition to the two, the film is filled with Rob Brydon, Diane Morgan, Jamie Demetriou, Brett Goldstein, Allison Janney and Lamorne Morris.

Not Alone is directed by Eric Guillon who has worked on Despicable Me and Minions films and assistant director for Despicable Me 3.

This film is Timothée Chalamet's latest project after this year's Marty Supreme and completing filming for Dune: Part Three. Selena Gomez also returns to acting after Emilia Perez who received a positive response when it aired in 2024.

They also met after acting in the film A Rainy Day in New York in 2019.
