PBNU Chairman: NU's Determination To Serve The Nation And Humanity Will Never Be Luntur

Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya ensured that NU's determination to serve the nation and state would never fade.

"Until now and God willing, for good, NU's determination will never fade to continue serving this nation we love and serve humanity as much as possible," said Gus Yahya during the 101st Anniversary Peak Reception (Harlah) NU at the Integrated Campus of Nahdlatul Ulama University (UNU) Yogyakarta, Sleman, Yogyakarta, Wednesday, January 31, confiscated by Antara.

Gus Yahya said that the Indonesian nation is currently facing a very decisive momentum for the future. Despite the many challenges, he emphasized that at the same time there are many advantages that when used strategically as well as possible will be able to overcome these challenges.

"This is a momentum, a very crucial moment, very decisive for Indonesia's future. So, NU will also not stand idly by, will really try to contribute to the benefit of the nation and our beloved country," he said.

Gus Yahya said that when the NU organization was inaugurated or to be precise 101 years ago, the founder of NU Hadratus Syeikh KH Hasyim Asy'ari in his speech conveyed the message that the most important thing in society was unity in brotherhood.

"People who are united in brotherhood will grow into a strong society," he added.

On that occasion, one of the caregivers of the Raudlatut Thalibin Islamic Boarding School in Leteh, Rembang, Central Java, also reminded him about the application of the trilogy of brotherhood as a basis or religious framework.

The trilogy initiated by Rais Syuriah PBNU as a result of the 27th NU Congress KH Achmad Siddiq is brotherhood among Muslims (ukhuwwah Islamiyah), fellow nations (ukhuwwah wathaniyah), and fellow human beings (ukhuwwah basyariyah).

"Over the past 101 years, brotherhood, togetherness, peace, tolerance, and harmony have been the strongest markers of the presence of NU," said Gus Yahya.

The series of NU's 101st Harlah Commemoration in Yogyakarta entitled "Membiru Kinerja Mengawal Indonesia's Victory" opened with istigasah at the Sunan Pandanaran Islamic Boarding School, Bantul, Sunday, January 28.

Then, continued with the National Halaqah on the Nahdlatul Ulama Civilization Strategy at the Al-Munawir Islamic Boarding School, Krapyak, Yogyakarta, Monday 29 January; NU Grand Conference at the same location on Tuesday 30 January; and the reception at the Yogyakarta UNU Integrated Campus on Wednesday 31 January.
