BP Taskin Encourages Digital Sector To Create An Inclusive Economy

JAKARTA - The Poverty Reduction Acceleration Agency (BP Taskin) said it makes food, home, and digital sector a priority in 2025 in a sustainable strategy in poverty alleviation, as well as encouraging inclusive economic growth for the poor.

"The digital sector will be a priority to invite all poor people to be more educated in achieving an independent economy and being able to get out of poverty," said Head of BP Tamkin Budiman Sudjatmiko in a statement received in Jakarta, Saturday.

He explained that digital technology must be the main foundation for the poor so as not to be left behind in information and opportunities. He considered that this was in accordance with BP Taskin's tagline in accelerating poverty alleviation, namely data, first and empowered.

According to him, the best and sustainable poverty alleviation solution is by creating more inclusive employment and social entrepreneurship and high economic added value, therefore the industrialization agendas of the poor need to be carried out immediately to increase national productivity and will have a long-term impact on investment and national economic growth.

Starting from the digital sector, he said, the poor will learn to do business and innovate. Over the next five years, he said, his party will focus on nine main sectors, namely the food, processing, health, education, housing, the creative economy, digital technology, transportation, and renewable energy industries.

In the first year, his party will focus on digitization, food projects, and housing projects, providing digital technology solutions and production/industrial technology solutions to accelerate job creation and social entrepreneurship.

Then, be involved in building a social entrepreneurship ecosystem in the form of industrializing chains for the poor in nine industrial sectors, both as investors, solution/product providers, program implementers, workers, as well as market off takers.

Regarding data, he mentioned that the strengthening of beneficiary data from various programs into a single database managed by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) can later be used as a reference for poverty alleviation programs.

Budiman added that the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) and Housing Program programs are attracting factors to alleviate poverty, while BP Taskin is a driving factor, so that good synergy is created to alleviate poverty.

In the same statement, United Nations Sustainable Development Solution Network (UN-SDSN) President Jeffrey Sachs assessed that these steps were specific, clear, and applicable.

Jeffrey also appreciated the integration carried out by President Prabowo and BP Taskin in the Poverty Reduction Program, Free Nutrition Housing and Eating Program Program, as well as Food Swasembada.
