Merak-Bakauheni Executive Pier Tariffs Rise Starting February 1, Here Are The Details

PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) said the adjustment of transportation rates to the Merak and Bakauheni Crossing Port Executive Pier services was to improve ferry, safety, and shipping transportation services.

ASDP informed that it will apply transportation tariff adjustments to the dock service starting Thursday (1/2) at 00.00 WIB.

ASDP Corporate Secretary Shelvy Arifin said the tariff adjustment was also made to maintain the continuity of the ferry transportation industry and increase competitiveness with other modes.

Furthermore, tariff adjustments are an effort to meet minimum service standards.

"ASDP continues to improve the quality of service to service users, the increase in tariffs is nothing but also carried out to support minimum service standards so that people can cross comfortably and safely," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 29.

This express ship service tariff adjustment refers to the Letter of the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia Number: PR.302/4/16 PHB 2023 dated November 15, 2023 concerning Approval for Adjustment of Port Services Tariffs at the Executive Pier Service of Merak Ferry Port and Bakauheni PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero).

In line with tariff adjustments, ASDP hopes that the operational and business sustainability of ferry and port transportation business entities can run stably and be an encouragement for ASDP to continue to provide excellent service for service users.

Over the past five years, ASDP has never adjusted tariffs to Merak-Bakauheni executive dock services. However, along with the growth in operational costs and investment in improving facilities and improving service quality, tariff adjustments are unavoidable.

Based on the analysis carried out, the average tariff adjustment for passengers reached 8.72 percent. The adjustment takes into account various factors, including fuel costs, ship maintenance costs and facilities as well as other operational costs increases. Meanwhile, for vehicles, the average adjustment is 4.74 percent.

"The implementation of tariff adjustments on the busiest track of the main Merak-Bakauheni branch is also in line with the increase in service users' safety, security and comfort factors on a regular basis through efforts to improve port facilities such as access bridges and Garbarata, dock capacity, parking area and passenger waiting room facilities," said Shelvy.

In addition, service users can enjoy supporting facilities on ships such as VIP rooms, toilets, worship rooms, air-conditioned rooms, canteens to children's playgrounds.

ASDP has also socialized directly and collaborated with related parties to ensure proper coordination in the application of tariffs and delivery of information to service users.

Apart from social media, information about tariff adjustments is also conveyed through the Ferizy application and outdoor media such as banners posted in the port area.

The following is the new tariff on the Merak and Bakauheni Ferry Port Executive Pier services.

- Baby: IDR 4,000

Vehicles

- Group I: IDR 85,000

- Group II: IDR 129,677

- Group III: IDR 187,853

- Group IV: passenger vehicles Rp49,128 and goods vehicles Rp491,800

- Group V: passenger vehicles Rp1,225,928 and goods vehicles Rp904,923

- Group VI: passenger vehicles Rp2,015,985 and goods vehicles Rp1,366,620

- Group VII: IDR 1,975,580

- Group VIII: IDR 2,619,845

- Group IX: IDR 3,998,920.
