West Java Bawaslu Concerning Ridwan Kamil: The Fact Of The Video Is Saweran, But Is Money Politics Still Being Studied

BANDUNG - The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of West Java revealed that there were facts about the Chairperson of the TKD Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka in West Java, Ridwan Kamil, who distributed money (sewer) in the activities of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) of Tasikmalaya Regency.

"That's right, yes, the fact is that the video has a saweran, related to the dance competition, right. Then the person concerned said that his position was between Rp. 100,000 to Rp. 200 thousand and also limited to only two to three people," said the West Java Bawaslu Violation Handling Division Coordinator Syaiful Bachri at the West Java Bawaslu office, Bandung, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 29.

However, Syaiful said the West Java Bawaslu could not provide certainty whether Ridwan Kamil had committed an election violation related to money politics or not because the examination process was still ongoing.

"Will it be judged later as what is meant by political money, later we will review it again related to these activities," said Syaiful.

The follow-up examination, said Syaiful, is not only related to money palm oil activities and the involvement of BPD, but will also assess whether these activities are in the context of campaigns.

Therefore, he said, later West Java Bawaslu will investigate related to campaigns ranging from notification, props, distribution of campaign materials, and all kinds of things.

"Say the context of the campaign, of course, in order to convince voters or if you don't promise something like that. Meanwhile, the assessment that was conveyed by him was not. Therefore, later we will value the whole thing related to these activities whether they are campaigns or not," he said.

Previously, Ridwan Kamil was reported for allegedly carrying out a campaign and money politics in Jambore, Management of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) throughout Tasikmalaya Regency which was held in Cipatujah District, Saturday, January 13, 2024.

There are allegations of violations of ASN neutrality during the campaign stage from the viral 88-second video, where the Chairperson of the West Java Prabowo-Gibran TKD Ridwan Kamil used the attributes of the candidate pair (paslon) at the Tasikmalaya Regency Village Consultative Body (BPD) activities.

In the video footage, it is suspected that Ridwan Kamil shouted at the president three times, which was greeted by the crowd with Prabowo's name. It didn't stop there, while spending his pants giving money to residents dancing. This viral video recording is the material for reporting the alleged violation of the 2024 General Election.
