KPK Names 1 Suspect From 11 People Caught OTT In Sidoarjo

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Siska Wati, who is the Head of the General and Personnel Subdivision of the Regional Tax Service Agency (BPPD) as a suspect today, Monday, January 29. He is one of 11 people caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT) in Sidoarjo, East Java, Thursday, January 25. "“Stipulate and announce the suspect SW, Head of the General and Personnel Division of the Sidoarjo Regency BPPD,”" said KPK Deputy Chair Nurul Ghufron in a press conference broadcast on the Indonesian KPK YouTube, Monday, January 29. Ghufron said this silent operation was related to cutting and receiving illegal fees or levies within the BPPD of Sidoarjo Regency. From this activity, evidence was found in the amount of Rp. 69 million. In this case, Siska Wati allegedly cut incentive funds for state civil servants (ASN) at the Sidoarjo BPPD. There are allegations that the money was used for the Head of BPPD and the Regent of Sidoarjo. This cut was conveyed verbally by Siska to ASN. “ And there is a prohibition not to discuss the cut in question through communication tools, including via WhatsApp conversations, ” said Ghufron. The amount of the discount set reached 10-30 percent of the incentives received by ASN. This money comes from the amount of BPPD tax revenue in Sidoarjo Regency which reached Rp1.3 trillion. Furthermore, Ghufron said that throughout 2023 the incentive money deducted and collected by Siska from ASN reached IDR 2.7 billion. As a result of his actions, Siska will now be detained for the first 20 days.

As a result of his actions, Siska Wati was charged with Article 12 letter f of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code.
