Ahmad Syaikhu: Copyright Law Loses Workers, PKS And AMIN Will Open 8 Million New Jobs

JAKARTA - President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Ahmad Syaikhu said the attitude of the Anies Baswedan-MuhaiminIskandar (AMIN) pair for workers was in line with the vision and mission of PKS.

"In the 2024 election, PKS brings an easy work idea, which wants to present eight million new jobs. PKS' commitment to workers has been going on for a long time, both through structure and legislation, in line with what the AMIN candidate pair brought," he said in a written statement reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 29.

According to him, PKS as the party that carries the AMIN pair has the same vision and mission to defend workers.

This was conveyed by Syaikhu in response to Anies Baswedan's statement at the "Desak Anies" event with the theme of workers and online motorcycle taxis.

So far, said Syaikhu, the PKS struggle is by creating jobs, realizing fair wages, ensuring economic progress based on independence and equity, and supporting Indonesian corporations.

Syaikhu said that currently the Indonesian workforce is dominated by informal workers who have more vulnerable protection than formal workers. In addition, one of the challenges of the demographic bonus is the high need for jobs.

"PKS has consistently defended the fate of workers, one of which since the beginning rejected the Job Creation Law which is detrimental to workers," he emphasized.

According to him, the Job Creation Law has proven to harm the protection of workers and has not had a significant impact on the absorption of labor. In fact, the government acknowledged that the investment did not have a direct impact on the absorption of local workers.

"PKS has consistently rejected the Omnibus LawCipta Work which is considered to be detrimental to workers, starting from the process that does not involve elements of workers, contract regulations, wages, layoffs, and so on," he explained.
