President Jokowi Admits Backfield Invited By PSI Chairman For The 2024 Election Campaign

MAGELANG - President Joko Widodo admitted that he had repeatedly been invited by his son who is also the General Chair of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep to participate in the campaign in the 2024 General Election. "Oh yes, I've been invited back and forth, but once again, I just conveyed the provisions of the law, the Election Law, (how come) it's already crowded," said Jokowi on the sidelines of the activity in Magelang, Central Java, Antara, Monday, January 29. Previously, Kaesang Pangarep admitted that he invited Jokowi to campaign with PSI. On the other hand, the previous President also conveyed the provisions of the Election Law that the President could campaign. Journalists then asked Jokowi when he would campaign with his son as vice presidential candidate number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka. Jokowi neither confirmed nor denied that he provided support for certain pairs of candidates in the 2024 presidential election. He only emphasized that recently he had only conveyed the provisions of the Election Law which allowed the President to campaign.

"There are questions, right? I convey that the provisions of the law are already crowded," he said.
