Mount Ibu Erupts, Vomits 1,500 Meters Of Abu To The South

JAKARTA - The Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) reported that Mount Ibu erupted volcanic ash as high as approximately 1,500 meters on Friday, January 26 at 17.27 WIT.

Mount thick ash on Halmahera Island, North Maluku Province (Malut), is heading south and southwest. "The maximum amplitude of the eruption is 28 millimeters and a duration of approximately 2 minutes 7 seconds," said Mount Ibu Observation Post Officer Axl Roeroe in a report received in Jakarta, Friday, January 26, confiscated by Antara. PVMBG asked the public not to move within a 2 kilometer radius and the sectoral expansion is 3.5 kilometers to the crater opening in the northern part of the active crater.

If ash rains, people who are active outside the home are advised to use a nose, mouth (mask), and eyes (glasses). Mother's mountain is a volcano with a volcano strato type that has a height of 1,325 meters above sea level located in the northwest of Halmahera Island, North Maluku.

Puncak gunung merupakan kawah vulkanik. Pusat kawah memiliki lebar 1 kilometer dan kedalaman 400 meter, sedangkan bagian luar memiliki lebar 1,2 kilometer.Sepanjang tahun 2023, Gunung Ibu menduduki posisi kedua gunung api paling aktif erupsi di Indonesia. Gunung api tersebut mengalami erupsi sebanyak 21.100 kali.PVMBG mengingatkan masyarakat untuk selalu mewaspadai aliran lahar pada sungai-sungai yang berhulu ke puncak Gunung Ibu dan selalu berkoordinasi dengan pos pengamatan gunung api setempat.
