Firli Bahuri Withdraws Pretrial Lawsuit, Here's The Reason

JAKARTA - Former Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission or the KPK, Firli Bahuri, withdrew his pretrial lawsuit regarding his determination as a suspect in the alleged extortion case against former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL). The lawsuit was officially withdrawn at the South Jakarta District Court (PN Jaksel), Friday, January 26.

"Yes, today we remially revoked the application (pretrial lawsuit) which we had previously registered with the South Jakarta District Court," said Firli Bahuri's attorney, Fahri Bachmid to VOI, Friday, January 26.

The reason behind the withdrawal of the pretrial lawsuit was due to the substantial consideration of the application material.

In addition, said Fahri, his party also considers several important materials and technical strategies that need to be re-elaborated.

"We elaborate further, by taking into account existing legal principles, we will enrich pretrial materials to make them more elementary," he said.

"So that it becomes in accordance with the needs and legal interests of our client's pretrial application, Mr. Firli Bahuri," continued Fahri.

Previously, Firli Bahuri's pre-perdulan lawsuit was registered at the South Jakarta District Court with case number 17/Pid.Pra/2024/PN JKT.SEL.

The main material in the lawsuit is whether or not the determination is legal as a suspect.

In the lawsuit, the respondent, namely the Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak.

The South Jakarta District Court has scheduled the first trial to be held on January 30.
