New Fraud Mode Use PPS PPS Files For The 2024 Election Rises, OKU Residents Of South Sumatra Beware

He explained that the application files that usually log in via the smartphone contain malware that can retrieve personal data so that it can drain the contents of people's digital accounts. "This fraud mode is usually done by sending messages via WhatsApp from unknown numbers. The message contains a link to download the PPS 2024 Election APK file," he explained. If the link is clicked, he said, the victim will be directed to download the file.APK, then drain the contents of the victim's digital account. "This file..APK is malware that can retrieve the victim's personal data such as cell phone numbers, email addresses, and banking data. In fact, it can also drain the contents of the victim's digital account on a smartphone," he said. To avoid this fraud, the public is advised not to download files.APK from unknown numbers and be careful of messages containing links. "If you find a message containing a link, it should be opened in a safe browser such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox," he said. Through all police officers, his party educates the public to remain vigilant so as not to become victims of fraud from applications that spread widely ahead of the 2024 General Election.

"Our members in the field continue to remind the public not to click or provide access to shipments in the form of APK from unknown sources via WhatsApp messages because it could be the mode of fraud," said Holdon.
