Mahfud Immediately Leaves Jokowi's Cabinet, This Is Airlangga's Response

INDRAMAYU - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto responded to the statement by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD who planned to withdraw from Jokowi's Cabinet at the right time. Coordinating Minister Airlangga said Mahfud had the right to make choices in the cabinet.

"Yes, if it is returned to Pak Mahfud MD, but we know that the position of minister is the prerogative of the president. So that's solicitaraja," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga in Indramayu as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 24.

In the Collision of Prof in Semarang, Central Java, Tuesday (23/1), vice presidential candidate number 3 Mahfud MD stated that he would resign from the position of Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs in Jokowi's Cabinet at the right time.

According to him, the resignation will be carried out properly so that there is no conflict. The option to resign has been discussed with presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo.

"What Pak Ganjar said to the public this afternoon was my agreement with Pak Ganjar from the start," he said.

Mahfud also highlighted his statement during the last vice presidential debate at the JCC Senayan Convention Center, Jakarta, on Sunday (21/1) where he thanked Jokowi for trusting him to carry out his duties as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs.

"I believe he had good intentions for the people when he appointed me as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs and I helped him," said Mahfud.

He is also willing to accompany Ganjar to advance to the 2024 presidential election because he believes that the former governor of Central Java is a prorakyat leader.
