Wife Allows Husband To Have Sex With Her Child Repeatedly Because She Doesn't Want The Ritual To Fail

JAKARTA - A married couple (couple) in Purbalingga, Central Java has become a suspect in a case of sexual intercourse with a child. The suspect who was arrested was RM (54), a stepfather of the victim, a resident of Nusawungu District, Cilacap Regency. The second suspect is SK (42), the biological mother of the victim, a resident of Purbalingga District, Purbalingga Regency.

The Deputy Chief of the Purbalingga Police, Kompol Donni Krestanto, said in writing that RM had sex with the victim at the permission of his biological mother with the initials SK, under the pretext of launching the pesugihan ritual process.

The incident occurred in December 2023, the suspect RM, who was the victim's stepfather, told his wife that the pesugihan ritual was failing because there was a supernatural being who had a grudge.

"The suspect RM told his wife that to prevent the ritual of pesugihan, there must be a sacrifice of life or lust. Hearing this, SK then offered his 16-year-old daughter to be sexually assaulted," said Deputy Chief of Police accompanied by Plt Kasihumas Ipda Uky Ishianto and the Head of PPA Satreskrim Aiptu Hesti.

Furthermore, it was stated that the victim had refused but the suspect SK continued to persuade his son to be sexually assaulted by his stepfather. With the excuse that the pesugihan effort can be successful in paying his mother's debt which is quite a lot. In addition, if the victim refuses, the mother will be scolded and beaten by her stepfather.

"The victim initially refused his mother's request, but with persuasion and as a result of the victim feeling sorry for his mother finally willing to obey," he explained.

Revealed Cases

The disclosure of the case began when the victim was at her grandmother's house not wanting to go home. Then tell her all the events that happened to her aunt. Then the victim's aunt reported the incident to the Purbalingga Police on January 4, 2024.

"Receiving the report, the PPA Unit of the Purbalingga Police Satreskrim conducted an examination and investigation. After finding sufficient evidence, the two suspects were then secured to account for their actions," he said.

Based on the suspect's confession, sexual intercourse with his stepdaughter has been carried out three times. The first was done in 2019 by giving the victim sleeping pills. The victim was unconscious and was then sexually assaulted with the consent of his mother.

While the second and third events were carried out in December 2023. The act was carried out in one of the rooms of the house occupied by the family in Purbalingga. When the incident occurred, the victim's biological mother accompanied her.

The suspect is subject to Article 81 paragraph (2), (3) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning the stipulation of Perpu Number 1 of 2016 concerning the second Amendment to Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection. With the threat of imprisonment for a minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 15 years and a maximum fine of IDR 5 billion.

"In the event of a criminal act as referred to by parents, guardians, caregivers, educators, or education staff, the sentence is increased by a third of the criminal threat," he concluded.
