JAKARTA - A cafe in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) was closed by authorities after repeatedly violating food safety rules, including cases of finding insects in the venue.

The Healthy Dream Food Cafe, located on Jalan Al Niga, closed on Thursday after an early failure related to cleanliness.

Abu Dhabi's Food and Agriculture Safety Authority said the outlets had been given three warnings of unhygienic practices before closing.

"The decision to close this cafe was taken after repeatedly failing to meet food health and safety standards," the food authority said, as reported by The National News January 19.

This cafe failed to respond to the observations of the watchdogs regarding health and food safety. It causes closure until the problem is resolved.

"Cafes can open the door after solving the problem and meeting the necessary requirements," explained the authorities.

It is known that the supervisors regularly conduct checks on restaurants in the UAE capital, to protect public health and ensure that these restaurants meet food safety requirements.

"All types of places of business and food products are subject to inspections, to ensure compliance with the highest food safety standards," the authority said.
