Riau Islands Provincial Government Extends Work Contract Of 1,748 Non-Permanent Employees

TANJUNGPINANG - Riau Islands Provincial Government (Pemprov) (Kepri) extended the contract of 1,748 non-permanent employees (PTT) in 2024 through the Decree (SK) of the Governor of Riau Islands Ansar Ahmad.

Governor Ansar at the symbolic handover of the decree on the extension of the PTT contract appreciated the performance of PTT which has contributed to public services in Riau Islands. He is committed to fighting for the fate of PTT so that he can be appointed as a Government Employee with a Work Agreement (P3K).

"We hope that in the next three years, all of these PTTs are in accordance with the qualifications and competencies that have been selected, hopefully they can be accepted as first aid kits. Including later we will also think about the fate of our friends from the Off Daily Team," said Ansar at Wan Seri Beni Hall, Dompak Island, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, January 18.

Ansar said the need for civil servants in Riau Islands is very large, considering that this area is very wide and has 2,480 islands, 394 of which are inhabited.

He also emphasized the importance of evaluating the competence and seriousness of PTT's work ethic in working by each head of regional apparatus organizations (OPD).

"PTT is not serious, we ask for an assessment and reward. For those who just ride and sit down to work without any contribution from their respective works, we must give them punishment," said Ansar.

Head of the Regional Civil Service Agency (BKD) and Korpri KepriYeny Trisia Isabella said the number of PTT in 2024 decreased compared to 2023, from 1,847 people to 1,784 people.

"There are 63 people who have not been extended this year, for various reasons, such as death, resignation, or stumbling into legal cases," said Yeny.

Yeny explained that the PTT within the Riau Islands Provincial Government is regulated based on Governor Regulation (Pergub) Number 31 of 2011 concerning PTT. The extension of the 2024 PTT contract is one year, starting from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024.

According to him, each PTT will be given a list of work assessments within a period of one year, which will be considered for the appointment of another year.

"Therefore, we ask PTT to work with full responsibility, according to their respective duties," said Yeni.
