Iranian Foreign Minister: If Gaza's Genocide Stops, Crisis And Other Attacks In The Region Will End

JAKARTA - Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Wednesday, if the conflict in Gaza ends, another attack on the region will also stop.

Since the outbreak of the Hamas-Israeli conflict in Gaza on October 7, tensions have also risen in surrounding areas, including on the Lebanese-Israeli border to attacks in the Red Sea, where militant groups Hezbollah and Houthi in the two regions expressed support for Hamas.

"If the genocide in Gaza stops, then this will end the crisis and other attacks on the region," Iran's Foreign Minister said at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Foreign Minister Amirabdollahian further said Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasollah told him Hezbollah's attack would stop if Israel stopped its attack on Hamas in Gaza.

Foreign Minister Amirabdollahian told CNN that in the last 100 days, he had held talks twice with Nasrallah.

Foreign Minister Amirabdollahian added that maritime security and shipping safety in the Red Sea, Oman Bay and Persian Gulf are important to Iranian oil exporters, claiming Iran has information that Yemen and Saudis are approaching a "real substantive peace agreement."

"The Red Sea's security is linked to developments in Gaza, and everyone will suffer if Israel's crimes in Gaza don't stop. All fronts (opposites) will remain active," he said.

As previously reported, Foreign Minister Amirabdollahian on Monday said the Houthi militia allied with Iran would continue their attack on the Red Sea "during genocide in the Gaza war continues",

"Senior officials in Sanaa ( Houthi leader) Yemen told us, as long as genocide in the Gaza war continues, they will take action to prevent the movement of Israeli ships or ships to Tel Aviv," he said.

However, Foreign Minister Amirabdollahian added, the Houthis had assured Tehran that "they would not interfere with maritime security".
