KPU Reveals 1 TPS On Rejang Lebong Blank Spot Internet, Sirekap Access Constrained

The General Elections Commission (KPU) noted that there is only one polling station (TPS) in Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu, which has not been reached by the internet network. As a result, access to the 2024 Election Voice Recapitulation Information System has become hampered.

Coordinator of the Rejang Lebong Regency KPU Planning, Data and Information Division Muhammad Anas Kholiq said the calculation and recapitulation of the votes acquired by the 2024 General Election would use Sirekap so that the location for the establishment of each TPS must be supported by an adequate internet network.

"Currently, of the 40 polling stations that were originally constrained by the internet network, only one polling station is located in Talang Belitar Village, Sindang Pulanjung District, whose status is still blank spot," said Anas in Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu, Monday, January 15, which was confiscated by Antara.

He explained that initially TPS experienced problems with weak internet signals or even no internet network was recorded at 40 out of a total of 816 polling stations in Rejang Lebong Regency.

"In Sindang Pulanjung District, there are two blank spots, namely Warung Pojok and Talang Belitar. For Warung Pojok Village, we already have a solution using an orbital modem that emits a wifi signal. We will install the modem in a high place," he explained.

As for the internet network problem in Talang Belitar Village, various providers have been tried, but have not been able to get an internet network, so they are still looking for a way out.

Previously, KPU Rejang Lebong noted that of the 816 polling stations for the 2024 General Election spread over 15 sub-districts, there were 40 polling stations that were constrained by telecommunications network problems (internet), ranging from weak signals, there were even some polling stations that did not have any signal at all or blank spots.

The villages that are constrained by the internet network are spread across several sub-districts, especially five villages in Langbak. In fact, of that number, there are five villages whose TPS does not have a cellular signal network at all.

Five villages include Warung Pojok Village and Talang Belitar Village in Sindang Pulanjung District, Lubuk Belimbing II Village in Sindang Beliti Ulu District, Lubuk Mumpo Village in Padang City District, and Trans Bukit Batu Village in Padang Ulak Tanding District.
