Ronald Tannur's Bribery Trial, Heru Hanindyo Murka: My Name Was Sold, Erintuah And Lisa's Meeting Was A Lie

The inactive judge of the Surabaya District Court, Heru Hanindyo, strongly denied the testimony of Erintuah Damanik who said he met Lisa Rachmat at Ahmad Yani Airport, Semarang, on June 1, 2024. Heru stated that the meeting never happened because at the same time, Erintuah was in Surabaya.

Heru made this statement when he read out the memorandum of defense or plea in the trial of the alleged bribery and gratuity case related to the acquittal against Gregorius Ronald Tannur at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Tuesday, April 29.

"Saturday, June 1, 2024, Erintuah Damanik is actually in the city of Surabaya, as evidenced by the absence of faces and fingerprints in the Surabaya District Court area," Heru said in front of the panel of judges.

He also added that on the same day Erintuah was recorded to be present at the Pancasila Birthday ceremony in Surabaya. This is evidenced by the manual attendance signed by Erintuah with serial number 39. Heru and Judge Mangapul are also said to be present at the same activity.

With this fact, Heru assessed that the claim of meeting Erintuah and Lisa at the Dunkin Donuts outlet at Ahmad Yani Airport was impossible. He also said that Erintuah's confession of receiving 140 thousand Singapore dollars from Lisa was baseless.

"This fact is a *notoire feiten*, or something that is already widely known and does not need to be proven again. Therefore, Erintuah's statement is very unreasonable," he said.

Heru also questioned the motive behind Erintuah's testimony which he thought deviated from reality. He considered Erintuah deliberately dragged her name into the case by calling it an unprecedented number of events.

"I regret why my name was sold as revealed in the facts of the trial," said Heru. He referred to two things: first, the claim that the appointment of the chairman of the assembly was based on his and Mangapul's proposals; and second, the second meeting between Erintuah and Lisa which was linked to the alleged unnatural relationship between the two member judges and Lisa.

Heru also emphasized that he and Mangapul had never played with Erintuah Damanik, and that the entire meeting with Lisa was Erintuah's personal initiative.

"There was never any bad intention or attempt in the assembly deliberation. These facts show that Erintuah's testimony contradicts reality," he said.

In this case, Heru Hanindyo was sentenced to 12 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 750 million, subsidiary to six months in prison. The prosecutor assessed that Heru was proven to have violated Article 6 paragraph (2) and Article 12B in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Eradication Law, as well as Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.

Heru is one of three defendants suspected of accepting bribes of Rp4.67 billion and gratuities in rupiah currency, Singapore dollar, Malaysian ringgit, Japanese yen, euro, and Saudi riyal, in the case of Ronald Tannur's acquittal in 2024. The other two defendants are Erintuah Damanik and Mangapul.
