Cak Imin's Answer Calls NU Cadres Must Support Amin, Khofifah Laughs

East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa responded with laughter at the statement of the vice presidential candidate (cawapres) Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) who said that NU cadres should support the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin (Amen) pair.

Cak Imin's statement came after the General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama Muslimat Central Executive, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, expressed support for the presidential and vice presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Khofifah, gave a statement after inaugurating the management of PW Muslimat NU South Sulawesi at the Makassar Islamic University auditorium, Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, Tamalanrea District, on Sunday, January 14, confirming that Cak Imin should be able to distinguish between party cadres and religious organizations.

"I am the chairman of the NU Muslim PP. I think if for example there are those affiliated with the party, it is party business. NU is still NU," he said.

The Governor of East Java also expressed his surprise if anyone doubted the "NU" of him. According to him, the person who questioned it should have checked the extent to which he was fighting for NU.

"So if I am the General Chair of PP Muslimat NU, then then there are those who doubt my NU, it must be reversed, so which one doubts. They have fought in NU structurally for how long, in what context, and so on," he said.

"Mas Imin is PKB. So, it's different between parties and organizations. I am the general chairman of PP Muslimat NU. Let it be labored with seven river water times, seven times flower water, yes I am still the general chairman of PP Muslimat NU," he added.

Khofifah assessed that there was a lack of understanding and invited all parties to respect each other in this political year.

"I don't want to go too far in response to that. It's better if we respect each other, build each other understanding, and trust," he said.
