Blusukan At Pucang Anom Market, Ganjar Says Chili Prices Are Starting To Fall

SURABAYA - Presidential candidate number three Ganjar Pranowosatarusukan at Pucang Anom Market, Surabaya City, East Java found chili prices starting to decline, while rice prices remained stable.

"There is good information, the price of chili is starting to fall. The price of rice is still stable at Rp. 13,000-Rp. 14,000, which is the cheapest, meaning it hasn't gone down yet, but earlier Bulog rice was Rp. 11,500," said Ganjar Pranowo after blusukan at Pucang Anom Market, Surabaya City, East Java, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, January 13.

Ganjar said he was happy to receive news of the decline in the price of basic foodstuffs because he considered that there was an improvement in the availability or supply of these foodstuffs.

He also gave notes to the Ganjar-Mahfud team to continue to monitor the prices of basic commodities so that they can provide input if there is a price increase that is too volatile.

According to him, the government needs to have an integrated commodity information system that aims to collect and at the same time update data related to commodities, especially around basic foodstuffs.

"I had experience with friends at the Central Java Provincial Government at that time, there was the SIHATI application, the Price Information System and Commodity Products, it could reach," he explained.

By having an integrated and latest information system at all times, the government can not only monitor, but also take quick steps to overcome the shortage of commodity availability in an area.

"So that we can fill it from one place that has a surplus to a place that is lacking, unless there are not all of them, now that is just an import policy," he said.
