Mahfud Was Not Worried That The Sound Of East Java Would Lose The Effect Of Khofifah Entering TKN Prabowo-Gibran

PAMEKASAN - Vice Presidential Candidate Mahfud MD is not worried about losing voters in East Java in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections (Pilpres).

This was conveyed by Mahfud referring to the decision of the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa to join the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka National Campaign Team (TKN).

"I have no concerns and no response," said the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) after attending the declaration of support in Pamekasan Regency, East Java, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, January 11.

The pair of presidential candidates Ganjar Pranowo admitted that they were normal to Khofifah's political choices in the 2024 presidential election.

"It's normal. There are those who support me, there are those who support others, that's normal, this is politics," said Mahfud.

Previously, the Secretary of TKN Prabowo-Gibran, Nusron Wahid, said that the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa was officially appointed as the Steering Committee and National Campaign Officer (Jurkamnas) of TKN Prabowo-Gibran.

Nusron explained that his party had issued a decree (SK) for the joining of Khofifah with TKN. However, the decree will be effective on Sunday, January 21, 2024.

"The decree has been made. However, the decree will be effective starting January 21," said Nusron during a press conference at the Media Center TKN Prabowo-Gibran, South Jakarta, Thursday.

Nusron said Khofifah would emerge as part of the TKN during the fourth debate of the 2024 presidential election, which will be held right when the decree is effective. After that, Khofifah will actively participate in the open campaign as a national team for the candidate pair number 2.
