Two Bandung LRT Paths Estimated To Cost IDR 20 Trillion

The West Java Provincial Government said the construction of two light rail lines (Light Rail Transit / LRT) in Bandung, namely Leuwipanjang-Tegalluar and Leuwipanjang-Dago (north) could cost around Rp20 trillion.

The daily executive (Plh) of the West Java Provincial Secretary Mohammad Taufiq Budi Santoso said the plan to build the two LRT sections was still in progress, namely in the completeness of the documents.

Including, he continued, the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the central government through the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu), related to development capital.

"LRT hopefully yes. We set the time to sign the master agreement with the Ministry of Finance. Later, it would be better for the Governor (Bey Machmudin) to convey. North-South Priority, then Leuwipanjang-Tegalluar, the need is IDR 20 trillion for the two sections," said Taufiq as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 9.

Taufiq said that later the LRT transportation mode is projected to be integrated with the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train (KCJB) service.

Therefore, his party also adheres to the development of the LRT to involve many parties, one of which is the private sector, through the Government and Business Entity Cooperation (KPBU) scheme, in the hope of accelerating development.

"The funds are assisted by the state budget through the Ministry of Finance. There are several documents that must be prepared. The LRT wants us to interfere (financing sources) with the PPP," he said.

The LRT, which is the mode of feeder (feeder) for KCJBASH and mass transportation in the city of Bandung, is expected to start construction no later than 2027.
