JAKARTA - Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Andi Amran Sulaiman said that the food barn program is not something that needs to be debated, especially since there has been success in the program.
"The plantation is not for debate, yesterday we planted 600 hectares of corn successfully, right, cassava too," Amran said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 8.
Amran said the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) and the Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan) collaborated in a 600 hectare corn estate area in the Food Estate area of Gunung Mas Regency, Central Kalimantan.
According to Amran, thefood estate is the government's effort to meet national corn needs, so there is no need to fuss or debate widely.
"Anyone who debates agriculture, it's not for debate but is being worked on. The proof is corn already, he is two months old, as long as I am, is now growing protracted," he said.
Food estate will later be used as a center and has great strength for Indonesia's food reserves, especially in anticipating the increasing number of people.
