New Facts About Child Abuse Cases By Stepfather: Victims Silenced With Rp20 Thousand In Cash

JAKARTA There is a new fact in the case of child molestation by a stepfather, H (42) against S (11), which occurred in the Pesanggrahan Area, South Jakarta. Bintoro explained, the perpetrator gave Rp20 thousand to his son so that he would not speak to anyone for his lecherous treatment.

"So the person concerned after doing that (obscenity), giving money and threatening, should not let anyone know. So he was given Rp. 10,000, given Rp. 20,000 to the victim's child with the initials S," Bintoro told reporters, Friday, January 5.

Bintoro said, the perpetrator has molested his stepson 20 times, since he was in grade V of elementary school. Meanwhile, the victim could not dodge because there was no power or strength to fight his stepfather.

"Yes, the perpetrator threatens, if you find out anyone, watch out for you. Even that week the child is already afraid, plus being lured with money too," he said.

This case was revealed after the victim complained to his cousin, Fitri in the Kebayoran Lama area, South Jakarta. Since then, the victim has been asked to make a police report.

The perpetrator was named a suspect and charged with Article 76 d and Article 76 e concerning sexual intercourse and sexual abuse of children, with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.

"In addition, we also suspect the Law on the Crime of Sexual Violence Article 6 in conjunction with Article 15, with a maximum penalty of 15 years," he concluded.
