Jakarta Heavy Rain, Kemang Street Inundated, 5 RT Floods

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that 5 RTs and 6 roads in Jakarta were flooded due to rain with moderate to heavy intensity until this afternoon.

"The BPBD noted that currently there are 5 RT or 0.016 percent of the 30,772 RT and 6 roads inundated," said Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Isnawa Adji in his statement, Thursday, January 4.

Floods at 5 RTs per 16.00 WIB are located in three South Jakarta sub-districts. Among them are 2 RTs in West Pejaten Village with a water level of 1.5 meters, 1 RT in Kalibata with a water level of up to 60 centimeters, and 2 RTs in Pela Mampang Village with a water level of 60 centimeters.

Meanwhile, 6 roads were inundated at: 1. Jalan Taman Kemang, Bangka Village, Mampang Prapatan District, South Jakarta, with a water level of 40 centimeters2. Jalan Empang 3, East Pejaten Village, Pasar Minggu District, South Jakarta, with a water level of 30 centimeters3. Front AUP Street Bank BNI Pasar Minggu, Pasar Minggu Village, Pasar Minggu District, South Jakarta, with a water level of 20 centimeters4. Jalan Kemang Utara IX, Duren Tiga Village, Pancoran District, South Jakarta, with a water level of 40 centimeters5. Pelita Street 5, Lubang Buaya Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta, with a water level of 20 centimeters6. Jalan Perjuang Ceger, Ceger Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta, with a water level of 30 centimeters

BPBD DKI Jakarta mobilizes personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each region and coordinate elements of the Natural Resources Service, Highways Office, Gulkarmat Service to carry out inundation suction and ensure that the water lines function properly together with the local village heads and sub-district heads.

"The inundation is targeted to recede in a short time. BPBD DKI urges the public to remain careful and alert to potential inundation," said Isnawa.
