Bali Immigration Implements A Fine Of IDR 1 Million Per Day For Overstay Foreigners

DENPASAR - The Immigration Office in Bali applies a fine in the form of a burden fee of Rp. 1 million per day to foreign nationals (WNA) with the validity period of their residence permit (overstay) which is still in Indonesia less than 60 days.

"Do not let foreigners enter and live in Indonesia illegally," said Head of the Bali Province Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Romi Yudianto in Denpasar, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 4.

He explained that the IDR 1 million per day burden is valid if the foreigner has ended the validity period of residence permit and is still in Indonesian territory in less than 60 days.

Foreigners who are unable to pay the expense are subject to deportation and are included in the list of deterrence from entering Indonesian territory.

Meanwhile, foreigners whose residence permits have expired and are still in the territory of Indonesia for more than 60 days are subject to deportation and are blocked.

The deported foreigner was then in his travel documents, namely the passport will be given a deportation stamp, while the foreigner has less than 60 days of being able to pay a burden of Rp. 1 million per day, not being given a deportation stamp on his passport.

The provisions related to deportation are regulated in Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration in Article 78.

Meanwhile, the amount of a burden of IDR 1 million per day is regulated in Government Regulation Number 28 of 2019 concerning the types and rates for the types of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) that apply at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia.
