LONDON - The positive performance of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BRI has again received international recognition. In the 2026 Top 1000 World Banks ranking published by The Banker, BRI ranked 132 globally. This achievement places BRI among the world's largest banks such as ICBC, Bank of China, JPMorgan, Bank of America, and Citigroup.

This recognition is of great significance considering that the Top 1000 World Banks ranking has been one of the main benchmarks in the global banking industry since it was first compiled in 1970.

For this achievement, President Director of BRI Hery Gunardi said that BRI's position on the international stage increasingly reflects the Company's ability to maintain financial fundamentals and capital strength in the midst of global economic dynamics.

"This achievement is a recognition of BRI's ability to maintain the fundamentals of performance to remain healthy, strong, and sustainable. The strength of the capital maintained provides an important foundation for BRI to continue to grow, carry out its intermediation function, and create increasingly broad value for all stakeholders," said Hery.

Meanwhile, BRI's position in the ranking is supported by solid financial fundamentals. Based on data listed in the Top 1000 World Banks as of December 2025, BRI's Tier 1 Capital was recorded at US$17.9 billion with total assets reaching US$127.2 billion. In terms of profitability, the Company's pre-tax profit was recorded at US$4.3 billion. BRI's performance is also reflected in the Capital Assets Ratio of 14.1%, Return on Capital of 18.9%, and Return on Assets of 2.68%.

Hery added that the fundamental strength of BRI is the result of the Company's consistency in carrying out the BRIvolution Reignite transformation, which emphasizes the spirit of change based on the strengths it has as a foundation for building an increasingly inclusive, adaptive, modern, and sustainable bank.

"The fundamental strength that we continue to build is an important capital for BRI to maintain healthy growth with quality assets that remain maintained. We are optimistic that this positive momentum will continue through the strengthening of digitalization, the implementation of disciplined risk management,

"We will also focus on sustainable value creation for all stakeholders," said Hery.

Hery emphasized that in the future, BRI will continue to strengthen its role as a bank that is pro-people's economy by making MSMEs the center of growth. The company will strengthen the end-to-end UMKM ecosystem, starting from providing access to financing, business assistance, to integration with markets and digital ecosystems, so as to be able to encourage increasingly inclusive and sustainable growth.

He also expressed his appreciation to all parties who have contributed to this achievement. "We dedicate this recognition to all customers, MSMEs, and all BRI employees. Their trust and contribution are the foundation for BRI to continue to grow, transform, and provide increasingly broad economic and social benefits to the community," he concluded.
