Takziah To Funeral Home, JK: Rizal Ramli Is A Friend Even Though He Often Has Different Opinions

JAKARTA - The 10th Vice President and 12th Jusuf Kalla (JK) expressed their deep condolences for the death of a senior economist who is also the former Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Resources Rizal Ramli. JK considers Rizal Ramli's figure as a friend even though they often have different opinions and are contrary when they are in government. "During the government, I often have sharp opinions, sometimes they are also contradictory, but we remain friends," said JK after visiting Rizal Ramli's funeral home in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, January 3. JK also remembers Rizal Ramli as an activist who is concerned with all his thoughts. This, according to JK, became an identity attached to the figure of the deceased. JK, who also serves as chairman of the Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI), remembers the late Rizal Ramli as a friend to discuss and exchange ideas since the two of them were both at Perum Bulog. "His memory (with) was when he replaced me as the head of Bulog at that time. So, we (I) always discussed food with him at that time," said JK. Rizal Ramli passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at 19.30 WIB, at Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) Jakarta.

The plan is for Rizal Ramli's body to be buried at the Kebon Purut Public Cemetery (TPU), South Jakarta, Jakarta, on Thursday tomorrow.
