KPU Asks Voters To Re-check Names In DPT Online

The General Elections Commission (KPU) invites the entire community to re-check their names online to ensure that they are included in the 2024 General Elections voter list.

The invitation was conveyed following the circulation of videos on social media X where hundreds of Indonesian citizens in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, claimed not to be on the final voter list (DPT) of the 2024 General Election.

"To all diaspora voters or foreign voters to ensure that their names are in the LN DPT, they can check the online DPT website," said KPUIdham Holik member quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 2.

Idham said the video that was circulating had to be confirmed for authenticity or was actually included in the disinformation category.

"Regarding the video that is widely circulated on social media, it is important for us to ensure that the video is authentic," he said.

Based on Article 125 of KPU Regulation Number 7 of 2022, it is explained that there are several voters who are not included in the DPT, they are included in the special voter list category (DPK).

Voters registered in foreign DPK are voters who are not registered in the DPT and an additional voter list (DPTb), but meet the requirements as voters.

They can exercise their voting rights on voting day by showing their electronic ID card, passport or Passport License with their residential address abroad.

The foreign DPK on voting day was recorded by a group of overseas voting organizers on the list present at the overseas polling station (TPS) and reported to the Overseas Election Committee.
