OPM Wing Attacks TNI Pamtas Post In West Papua, 1 Soldier Falls, 1 Other Critical

WEST PAPUA - Papuan Terrorist Separatist Group (KSTP) carried out an attack on the Battalion 133/Yudha Sakti Task Force specifically to guard the border area (Pamtas) in Papua. As a result, one TNI soldier died, another was in critical condition.

This attack was carried out by the wing group of the Free Papua Organization (OPM) led byATAN Fatem in the momentum of Christmas 2023, Monday, December 25. The incident was confirmed by the Head of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, Brigadier General Nugraha Gumilar.

"Yes, that's right, the KSTP attacked the Pamtas Task Force post in Maybrat Regency, Southwest Papua which resulted in one of our soldiers being killed and one seriously injured," he said in a written statement, Tuesday, December 26.

Kapuspen said that currently an investigation is still being carried out by the security forces. However, the investigation encountered problems due to rainy weather approaching the scene so that the mobility of movement and communication of internet and cellular signals encountered problems.

"For details, the incident is still under investigation," continued Kapuspen.

The attack was carried out by the KSTP group suddenly at the Bousah Post in South Aifat District, Maybrat Regency, Southwest Papua. They attacked from an altitude around 14.00 WIT with a distance of 100 meters.

Currently, one critical TNI soldier named Pratu Frangky Gulo is in intensive care at the Teminabuan Hospital. Meanwhile, one victim who died on behalf of Kopda Hendrianto has been buried.
