West Jakarta Metro Police Involves Team Gegana Sterilization 185 Churches

The West Jakarta Metro Police together with Polda Metro Jaya conducted sterilization in 185 churches in the West Jakarta area to ensure that the locations used in the Christmas service were safe and comfortable. Head of Operations Section (Kabag Ops) of the West Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Randi Ariana explained, several churches received special attention in this sterilization.

Among others, the Petojo HKBP Church on Jalan Kyai Tapa Grogol Petamburan and the ST Kristophorus Church on Jalan Satria IV Jelambar. In addition, the GKY Mangga Besar Church, the South Meruya MKK Church in Kembangan, the Kalideres Immakulata Church and the Slipi Salvator Church.

Randi also emphasized that this sterilization is a form of security and comfort commitment for Christians who participate in Christmas worship celebrations.

"This effort involves Brimob Gegana's team who have been specially trained to handle certain security situations," said Randi Ariana, ANTARA, Sunday, December 24. Ramadi hopes that Christmas services in every church in West Jakarta (Jakbar) can be peaceful and smooth.

Polda Metro Jaya ensures the security of 1,807 churches celebrating Christmas 2023 in DKI Jakarta and its surroundings. "The number of churches in the jurisdiction of Polda Metro Jaya that we have secured is 1,807 churches," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko. The personnel were distributed to 138 churches in Central Jakarta, 287 churches in North Jakarta, 204 churches in West Jakarta, 126 churches in South Jakarta and 171 churches in East Jakarta. In addition, in 213 churches in Tangerang City, 277 churches in Bekasi City, 144 churches in Bekasi Regency, 165 churches in Depok, 81 churches in South Tangerang and one church in the Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) area. As many as 1,807 churches were guarded by 4,041 joint personnel who were alerted in Operation Lil Jaya 2023.
