JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police has opened a new investigation into an online gambling case involving employees of the Ministry of Communication and Digital or Komdigi. Currently, elements of alleged corruption are being investigated.
"We are also investigating allegations of corruption committed by certain officials at Komdigi," said Polda Metro Jaya Chief Inspector General Karyoto to reporters on Monday, November 25.
In the investigation process, a series of witness examinations have been carried out. At least 18 people have been questioned.

"The Metro Jaya Police Corruption Sub-Directorate has requested information from 18 witnesses," he said.

In the online gambling case, there were nine Komdigi employees and one expert staff who were named as suspects.
"Komdigi employees who played a role in searching for online gambling websites and blocking them with the initials DI, FD, SA, YR, YP, RP, AP, RD, and RR," said Karyoto.
While one suspect who is an expert staff at the Komdigi Ministry is known to have the initials AK.
