West Sumatra-Jambi Access Can Be Passed After Flash Floods In Solok

The access road to the provinces of West Sumatra (West Sumatra) and Jambi can again be passed after the flash floods and landslides that hit Nagari Surian, Pantai Cermin District, Solok Regency, West Sumatra.

Head of the Solok Regency BPBD Unit (Kalaksa), Irwan Efendi, said that thanks to the participation of the local community, road access to West Sumatra (West Sumatra) and Jambi which had been closed due to flooding could be passed again.

"The flash flood material had disrupted the access road of the province on Jalan Solok Selatan and Alahan Panjang, precisely at the Kayu Manang bridge. But now it can be passed," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, December 21.

All heavy equipment has also been deployed by the Regent of Solok to assist the local community in cleaning up the flash flood material that hit the area.

The accident has caused a number of residents' houses to be heavily damaged, several bridges destroyed and hoarding community agricultural areas.

"The flash flood occurred due to very high rainfall causing the overflowing of the Kayu Manang River in Nagari Surian," he said.

Based on information obtained, the flash flood incident occurred ahead of sunset on Wednesday (20/12).

"The temporary report that I obtained was that a resident's house was damaged and a number of bridges were destroyed. Currently, the ones that are heavily affected are community agricultural land. Thank God there were no casualties," he said.

Until now, his party has not been able to provide definite data regarding the number of infrastructure damaged due to the impact of flash floods.
