Tourist Attractions In Puncak, Ciwidey And Lembang Areas Become Special Attention For The West Java Police During The Christmas-New Year Holiday

The West Java Regional Police have prepared traffic engineering and security at various tourist attractions during Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024. This is part of the task of the 2023-2024 Lodaya Candle Operation which will be held from 22 December 2023 to 2 January 2024. The Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police, Kombes Ibrahim Tompo, said the troops deployed to secure various areas including traffic at tourist attractions in West Java were situationally enforced traffic engineering. "The operation is to prevent crime, disaster preparation, and traffic regulation. For traffic engineering itself, adjusting to the situation in the area, such as diverting the flow, to one direction, contraflow and others, is adjusted to the density," said Tompo in Bandung, Antara, Thursday, January 21. For tourist objects that receive special attention, namely the Puncak Area in Bogor, the Ciwidey area and Pangalengan in Bandung Regency, Lembang area in West Bandung Regency, and Bandung City. "Indeed, some of the operational targets that we will carry out include tourist areas, traffic congestion arrangements, especially parking bags, so that coordination is carried out with tourism managers to prepare parking bags, prevent congestion, later there will be officers monitoring and controlling traffic," he said. The Puncak area will receive more attention during the Christmas 2023 period and the new year 2024, where it will be held to open and close the flow, and specifically for New Year's Eve, a free-night will be held at 18.00 to 06.00, provided that no vehicles will be allowed to pass on that route, except for emergency vehicles such as ambulances. "Last year it was implemented quite effectively and efficiently to avoid congestion, very useful for the community. Those who come to the top will be looser, this is in line with regional attention, namely the Regent and Forkopimda," he said. Alerting troops in the 2023-2024 Lodaya Candle Operation as well, said Tompo, to provide a sense of security and comfort to the community for elements of criminal acts, including unreasonable parking prices containing elements of extortion. "It's situational, related to such conditions (parking price hits) do have inappropriate elements, and can be reported criminally to officers," he said. It is known, as many as 25,973 joint personnel were prepared to secure Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 in West Java.

The personnel consisted of 15,669 police officers, 2,444 TNI officers, and the rest were personnel from various related agencies. The joint personnel will be deployed to 323 posts consisting of 216 security posts, 83 integrated posts, and 87 service posts.
