Anies Asks The Selective Community To Consume Information

Presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan asked the public to be selective in consuming information, because currently the flow of information is very fast.

"In this very diverse country, it is very important for us to be selective in seeing information," said Anies as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 20.

Anies said that the current information is very diverse, so there needs to be a selection from yourself, so as not to get hoax information.

According to him, Indonesia has become a diverse country, with its ethnicity, culture, different religions, for that when there is information it must be filtered first, do not let it be trusted directly, let alone information from social media.

Anies said that prior to social media, the information obtained had been filtered by the editors, and they were guided by the predetermined journalistic ethics.

"Why do I say this, the speed of information is very high, we live in Jakarta. For example, an incident occurred in Sulawesi involving religious communities, it is reported that it will arrive in Jakarta very quickly, and when we arrive here we who do not have complete information can draw conclusions A, B, C, D and it could be a problem," he said.

Anies said that when living in a very diverse country, maturity is needed at an individual level, because the information obtained is no longer filtered, that is why in various places it always has a higher risk of events around it.

"We inform that in the community there is a lot of information. There is information based on reality that there is information based on imagination (hoaxes) for that it needs to be filtered," he said.
