JAKARTA - Firefighters managed to evacuate a fallen tree that hit a utility cable on Jalan Taman Sari Raya, Tamansari, West Jakarta, Thursday, January 9, 2025.

"We have evaluated three personnel who have dropped," said Head of the Operations Section of the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept., Syarifudin, ANTARA, Monday, January 9, 2025.

Syarif said that initially his party received reports from the public that there was a fallen tree on Jalan Taman Sari Raya.

"Residents reported to us that there was a fallen tree covering public road access and hitting power lines. We will immediately follow up," Syarif continued.

Meanwhile, the village head of Taman Sari, Abdul Malik Raharulun, said the waru tree fell due to heavy rains accompanied by wind that occurred Wednesday night, January 8, 2025.

The tree, which is on the side of the Taman Sari river, hit the utility network and the road. In this incident, it was reported that no residents were victims.

"Initially, we assigned PPSU to cut tree branches that hit the road, soon firefighters came with chainsaw equipment," he said.

In connection with the handling, the West Jakarta Highways Sub-dept. officer turned off the electricity that was caught in a fallen tree trunk.

"Furthermore, the tree trunks were cut into pieces and transported into the Parks and Urban Forest Sub-dept. trucks," he said.
