JK Finally Express Support Anies In The 2024 Presidential Election

JAKARTA - The 10th and 12th Vice Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla (JK) finally expressed their support for presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan in the 2024 presidential election.

This was revealed in an event attended by the Spokesperson for AmIN Village with the Spokesperson for the National Team for Winning Anies-Muhaimin (AMINAn National Team) Muhammad Said Didu in Makassar, South Sulawesi.

JK said he was present at the event to affirm his support for Anies, after he was often asked by a number of parties about his political support.

"I came and was asked what is your attitude in Makassar? I really conveyed my attitude. Hopefully there will be benefits for all of you," said JK, quoted from a video seen by VOI, Tuesday, December 19.

JK emphasized that he supports Anies in this political contestation individually. Because, as Chairman of the Central Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), JK cannot actively support one of the presidential and vice presidential candidates.

"I came here to objectively convey my personal choices because I certainly have limits," said JK.

Separately, Said Didu also revealed that now JK has expressed its stance to support Anies-Muhaimin in the 2024 presidential election. This was revealed in his personal X account.

"Alhamdulillah, tonight at the Makassar IMMIM Building in front of South Sulawesi community leaders, volunteers and South Sulawesi political party leaders, Mr. @Pak_JK announced their choice for the AMIN pair in the 2024 presidential election," said the account @msaid_didu.

Previously, JK had emphasized that he must be neutral in the 2024 presidential election because he is still the Chair of the Central PMI.

"I am the chairman of PMI. PMI must be neutral. So, it cannot be TPN. That each of you has a political choice, please. However, there are certain things that limit it," said JK at his residence, Jalan Brawijaya Raya, South Jakarta, Sunday, November 19.
