Prabowo's Presidential Candidate Is Considered To Provide A Sense Of Security And Trust In Foreign Investors To Build IKN

Presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto is considered to be able to provide a sense of security and trust in foreign investors to build the capital city of the archipelago (IKN). "I think foreign investors will trust Prabowo more, especially for the security system he is very strong and international relations and partnerships are quite good," said Director of Political and Public Policy Studies (P3S) Jerry Massie in a statement received in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, December 17. Jerry assessed that there are many factors that make foreign investors have confidence in Prabowo. Among them, Prabowo has experience as a former top military and entrepreneur. Prabowo's background as a military person, Jerry continued, has made investors have a sense of security over the capital they will invest in IKN. "In addition, Prabowo's companion, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who is also a businessman, also adds to the trust of investors," he said. With this trust, according to him, the IKN project will be the right solution to level development in Indonesia. Not only about IKN's physical development, Jerry also emphasized Prabowo-Gibran to focus on building health infrastructure, education and food security in the new capital city. Previously, vice presidential candidate number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka said that IKN development was the beginning of equitable development in Indonesia. "If IKN is really empowered, this will automatically expand its impact to Eastern Indonesia and others," said Gibran. He explained, so far investment in Java which has reached 53 percent has made the area the center of construction today. This condition, according to Gibran, has left many areas outside Java behind in terms of the economy, quality of human resources to infrastructure development. For this reason, Gibran emphasized the importance of equitable development so that all regions have the same infrastructure strength. Based on the results of the draw and determination of the number of participants in the 2024 presidential election on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, the pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar received serial number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. serial number 3.

The KPU has also set a campaign period from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024, then the voting schedule will be on February 14, 2024.
