4 Gambling Content Makers Arrested In Semarang, Allegedly Affiliated By Bandar In Cambodia

SEMARANG - Police arrested a gang of online gambling content creators in Semarang City, Central Java. The perpetrators are suspected of being affiliated with one of the bookies in Cambodia.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Semarang Polrestabes AKBP Donny Lumbantoruan said the four members of the gang were arrested after circulating online gambling promos on social media they uploaded.

The four content creators who were secured were MRE (24), K (25), DS (24), and AF (30), respectively.

"This gang edited a video which was then affixed with a gambling service provider logo," he said in Semarang Friday, December 15, which was confiscated by Antara.

In addition, he continued, this gang also often broadcasts live on social media to promote online gambling.

Social media users who are interested in gambling, he said, will be invited to join the community to get various attractive prizes.

In fact, according to him, this gang was also contracted directly by a Cambodian bookie to promote through social media.

In fact, he said, this gang had gone directly to Cambodia to create gambling promotion content to be disseminated through social media.

For their actions, the perpetrators were charged with Article 303 of the Criminal Code concerning gambling.
