JAKARTA - Timika Agricultural Quarantine Office in Mimika Regency, Central Papua Province, inspects two reptile species that will be brought to Makassar, South Sulawesi (Sulsel).

The head of the Drh Ardhiana Animal Quarantine Team, Nur Suryani, said that his party examined twoecko or Eublepharis sp animals on Friday, December 15.

"Gecko is a cute animal that is still a family of Tokek, because various colors make people like to maintain it," he said in Timika, Friday, December 15, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to Ardhiana, thisecko has a diverse color pattern and is classified as a tame, not aggressive, gentle and flexible animal.

"As usual, before bringing animals out or entering Timika, they must undergo an examination by the Agricultural Quarantine Office to ensure their health," he said.

He explained that the examination by the Timika Agricultural Quarantine Office was also to ensure the completeness of the participation documents before being taken out of the area.

"We carry out physical examinations that include general health and documents, namely the Animal Health Certificate (SKKH)," he said.

He added that his party also examined the documents for Domestic Plant and Animal Transportation (SATS-DN) from the Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA) of Mimika Regency.

"Based on the results of the examination, the animal is in good health, not infected and has symptoms free of Quarantine Animal Disease (HPHK) so it is appropriate to be brought to Makassar as the destination area," he said.
