Remind Indonesia Not To Be Led By Human Rights Violators, PAN Asks PDIP: If Ganjar Becomes President, Will Prabowo Be Investigated?

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the National Mandate Party (PAN), Viva Yoga Mauladi responded to the statement by PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto who reminded Indonesia not to be led by a human rights violator.

Although he did not mention names, it is common knowledge that it is always associated with the number two presidential candidate, Prabowo Subianto.

Viva questioned that if later the presidential candidate promoted by PDIP, namely Ganjar Pranowo, was elected as president, would he investigate the alleged violations committed by Prabowo.

According to Viva, the narrative of past human rights violations linked to Prabowo is an old song that is always played every time before the presidential election.

But Viva felt strange, the sound of the narrative was echoed by a party that had named Prabowo as a candidate for vice president to accompany the general chairman.

"Always playing damaged tapes every 5 years, including when Mr. Prabowo became a vice presidential candidate for Megawati's mother, but at that time it was not the PDIP Party who commented. But now Mr. Prabowo is not together with PDIP, so friends from PDIP question the broken cassettes, which are periodically rotated every 5 years," said Viva Yoga in the Senayan area, Jakarta, Wednesday, December 13.

Viva explained that in the 5 presidential election contestation events, starting from the 2004 presidential election when Prabowi became Megawati's vice presidential candidate to running for himself as a presidential candidate in 2009-2024, the Minister of Defense of the Jokowi era was always accused of human rights violations. In fact, said Viva, it was juridically resolved and Komnas HAM concluded that there was no Prabowo's name in the case of human rights violations of the 98' tragedy.

"What I want to ask is if Ganjar is elected president, will Mr. Prabowo be taken care of again? The proof is that during the time Mrs. Mega was even determined as a vice presidential candidate. (Prabowo) Mrs. Mega's Cawaprs," said Viva.

"Mr. SBY twice doesn't have a problem, Mr. Jokowi has twice, there are no problems. So my question is, if Ganjar becomes president, will he investigate too?" said Viva again.

Viva assessed that the public already knew and realized that every slander addressed to Prabowo was accepted with patience and sincerity. The public, he said, also knew that the issue of human rights violations was aimed at a negative campaign in order to downgrade Prabowo and increase the electability of the candidates he supported.

"That's all, this is related to electoral, right? Want to vote, so the cassettes are played again," said Viva.

"Don't forget, the person who was slandered was loved by God. Don't forget that," he concluded.

Previously, the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto reminded human rights violators (HAM) not to be given the opportunity to lead Indonesia.

Initially, Hasto ensured that Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD was ready to participate in the inaugural debate which will be held on Tuesday, December 12.

This is because the pair number three is a person who prioritizes human rights and even has a program to resolve serious past violations fairly.

"In his program, Pak Ganjar and Prof. Mahfud made their commitment to human rights a calling for their souls because human values are very important, loving the people, loving the country is part of the commitment shown," said Hasto in a written statement quoted on Monday, December 11.

Hasto considered this attitude different from the couple who did not include the vision and mission regarding past human rights violations and their resolution.

Hasto did not mention who he meant. However, he asked the public not to monitor those who were deemed to have no concern for the issue.

"Don't let this republic be led by people who have a track record of human rights violations. Moreover, there are candidate pairs who do not include (visions and missions, ed) related to human rights," he said.
