Encouraging The Sustainability Of Indonesia's Digital Education Transformation, Acer Presents Acer Edu Summit 2023

JAKARTA - As a technology partner in the world of education who has a high commitment and cares about the advancement of education in Indonesia, Acer Indonesia today, Tuesday, December 12, again held the 2023 Acer Edu Summit.

Raising the theme 'Education Outlook 2024: Sustainability of Digital Transformation at the Indonesian Education Landscape', Acer encourages the role of schools and teachers in facing global transformation challenges with proactive sustainability steps to the dynamics of change.

Efforts to encourage the sustainability of transformation have been suspected by technological disruptions over the past few years that have changed many ways people are active and affected various sectors, especially education. Acer facilitates dialogue between key stakeholders, including governments, schools, educational institutions, in order to identify opportunities and challenges in facing the sustainability of digital transformation in the future.

Lenny Ng, Chief Operating Officer, Acer Indonesia, said, as a partner in realizing technological transformation in the world of education, Acer understands that the future of education begins early, and the role of digital transformation is very crucial to form a more advanced Indonesia.

A number of speakers attending the 2023 Acer Edu Summit were Muchamad Sidiyanto Sidiyanto, S. Ag., as Plt. Director of Curriculum, Facilities, Institutions, and Madrasah Student Affairs of the Directorate General of Islamic Education, Ministry of Religion; Dr. Iwan Syahril, SIP., MA, Ed.M., Ph.D, as Director General of Early Childhood Education, Basic Education, and Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology; and Prof. Rhenald Kasali, Ph.D, as Professor of the Faculty of Business Economics, University of Indonesia and Founder of Home Change.

In addition, there were also Prof. Tian Belawati, M.Ed., Ph.D., President, International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE), Former Chancellor of Indonesia Open University (Open University) who discussed revitalizing education in the digital era, particularly school and teacher strategies in facing the challenges of Artificial Intelligence (AI), as well as Dr. Charles Lim, as Senior Technical Advisor, Acer Cyber Security Inc., who discussed cyber security in education, in particular in maintaining school intellectual property and student privacy data.

Muchamad Sidiyanto, S. Ag., Plt. Director of Curriculum, Facilities, Institutions, and Madrasah Student Affairs of the Directorate General of Islamic Education, Ministry of Religion acknowledged that digital transformation is the key in advancing education, especially those related to madrasah education under the Ministry of Religion.

"We provide full support because madrasas need to actively adopt technological innovations to improve the quality of learning and institutional management. Madrasahs can not only play a central role in producing generations that are not only strong in religious values, but also skilled in facing the challenges of the digital world," he said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Iwan Syahril, SIP, MA, EdM, Ph.D, Director General of Early Childhood Education, Basic Education, and Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture, said, as a country with the fourth largest education system in the world, we will not be able to accelerate changes like this without technology.

"This is where the important role of technology and the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology has also changed the design model, as well as the application of education technology, starting from presenting products that are needed by our ecosystem in providing correct solutions needed by teachers, school principals, school supervisors, and also students," he said.

In digital transformation, the Ministry of Religion and the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology has a central role in advancing national education. Collaboration between all parties, consisting of policy makers, experts and education experts, school ecosystems consisting of school principals, foundation heads, teachers and education activists continues to be committed to improving teacher quality through the development of technology infrastructure and providing digital learning sources.

Thus, the synergy between Acer and various parties can create an ecosystem that supports learning in the digital era in facing the challenges of the times.

The event, which was held in a hybrid manner, was attended by participants consisting of education stakeholders such as school leaders, curriculum heads, government, school foundations with elementary to secondary school levels. This activity was attended by more than two thousand online participants and more than 300 offline participants.
