Jokowi Again Asks For Bill On Asset Confiscation And Kartal Money Restrictions To Be Resolved Immediately By The Indonesian House Of Representatives

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) again asked the DPR RI to immediately discuss and ratify the Draft Law (RUU) on Asset Confiscation and Limitation of Kartal Money.

This was conveyed by Jokowi in his remarks at the commemoration of World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) today, Tuesday, December 12. He said the draft law needed to be ratified and implemented immediately to provide a deterrent effect on corruptors.

"Regarding the strengthening of regulations at the level of law, this is also necessary. In my opinion, the Criminal Asset Confiscation Bill is important to be resolved immediately," Jokowi said in his remarks at Istora Senayan, Jakarta.

As previously reported, Commission III of the DPR RI some time ago stated that it was ready to discuss the Asset Confiscation Bill if assigned by the leadership of the DPR RI. Through special committees and work committees they are ready.
